Age rating of 15 is the most suitable choice for our opening

Our opening to a thriller would most likely be more suitable and appealing to male audiences aged between 15-25, than female audiences. As this is due to the build up in tension and the loud music which creates a sense of unease. Other factors are loud background noises, low key lighting, it would be unsuitable for younger audiences as there would be distressing scenes.

We targeted our audience through the use of thriller conventions such as low key lighting, tension music, scenes of suspense, loud back ground music and scenes creating unease and a tense atmosphere. We also included various camera shots e.g. close-up shots and over the shoulder shots, low angle shots and mid shots. These we the shots that were mainly used as we wanted to create a sense of unease and comfort. As by giving the audience the perspective of being very close to the character, it would make them feel uncomfortable as they would think they are invading person space or are too close to the person. Furthermore, we added titles in order to show the audience who has directed the film and who is the key actors in the thriller.

The tiles used in our thriller are:

- Production company logo
- Distribution company logo
- Editing by
- Produced by
- Screenplay by
- The tile of the film: 'More Than Meets The Eye.'
- Music by
- Cinematography by
- Starring
- Directed by

Through the use of titles, it draws the audience in as it shows the director of the film as most audiences have a preferred directed as they believe that, their preferred director creates the best film. The audience also pays attention to the actors as they have their own preferred actor, who they believe fits leading roles perfectly. It also draws attention to key cast members e.g. editing by... , screenplay by.... and  music by, this would draw the audience in as some cast may have been in other films doing other work. Furthermore, it gives information on the production company and the distribution company. The production company of our thriller is 'Baseline Productions' and the distribution company is called 'Screen Shot Entertainment.'
