Institutional Research - Giordano

                            300 (Snyder,2007) - Opening sequence (institutional Research)

In this task I was given the option to watch any opening to a film, i decided to choose '300'. After watching the opening I created two separate timelines, provided in the images above. one of the timelines was foe the Titles shown in the opening credits, in the case of '300' there was a total of 29 titles shown in the 2 minutes 48 second opening. The reason behind the 29 titles in this opening is in order to inform the viewer on the cast and the different roles in the crew.

In regards to my second timeline, I based this one on audio, and the background music. Throughout the entirety of the opening, the music remained the same however its pace and volume increased ad slowed down at parts, I believe this was a good use of audio as it created tension. the pace of the music depended on the images shown, for example if there was a battle scene, the music would be much louder and fast paced. However, if there were no images shown, the music remained low, but still creating a build up for tension.
