Thriller Opening Ideas instalment p.2 (morgan)

Thriller Ideas P.2

  The Royal Tenenbaums (2001, Anderson)
'needle in the hay' (Shaving Scene)

This scene although simple in essence is extremely affective, i feel that we will be able to incorporate this in the opening of our triller as it will be a key scene that will imply there is something not quite   normal with our protagonist. Seeing that we will now be going down a psychological thriller route,
the simplest of scenes will now become the most effective to utilise in our openings.
We don't have to follow the scene exactly as it is performed in this film as we are of course going to take our production in a different direction, for example in the end of this scene the character begins to bleed heavily, however all we require to be effective is just the shaving scene alone.

I believe scenes that incorporate the prop of mirrors for a sustained periods of time are useful at creating suspense and can easily put the audience on edge if manipulated properly, for example a close up of a characters face performing a particular act in a disturbing manor may do this prop justice.
