Production Risk Assessment

Production Risk Assessment

Whilst we filmed and constructed our thriller opening we had to be cautious and aware of possible health and safety risks that may occur.

We filmed in the environment of Ben's house, the domestic environment presented few risks such as...

Scenes that incorporated water - As we had scenes that included running and stationary water we had to be careful not to damage any of the equipment we were using at the time of filming including the camera and mic.

The shaving scene - There were multiple elements that we needed to be wary of in this instance, firstly the razor; its blade could have inflicted harm to our protagonist as we required hi to actually shave in the seen. Secondly the still water beneath our character was sitting just under our stationary camera which we stored on the ledge of the cupboard to get an extreme close-up, the camera could have potentially dropped in the sink and broke but we placed it carefully and still to prevent any damage from occuring.

Dangerous cutlery - There was a scene in which
the main protagonist menacingly handled knifes the first of which was a sharp carving knife and potentially dangerous. We had to be aware of the risks that the knifes could present such as injuring  cast member or a member of the crew.

Pets - Off camera we had to be wary of any of Ben's many cats (4) not only may they have accidently wondered on set but we could have also accidently injured them if not paying attention by tripping over them.

Pathways - we shot on his stairway which wasn't completely clear so we had to be cautious of props that one could possibly trip over, this applied to the hallway also as we had the prop of the backpack and the dead body of which the protagonist could have fallen over.
